Tottenham have completed the signing of Cameroon international Clinton N’Jie from Lyon on a five-year contract.

The striker, who turned 22 on Saturday, enjoyed a breakthrough season at the Stade Gerland last term – scoring eight goals in 32 appearances across all competitions.

And N’Jie will now provide head coach Mauricio Pochettino with another much-needed attacking option, relieving some of the pressure on White Hart Lane star Harry Kane to perform.

N’Jie can also play on either wing and has scored six goals in 11 appearances for his country.

“I‘m very happy to join Tottenham, such a big club in England,” N’Jie told Spurs’ official website.

“I’m still young, still growing up and it’s a big challenge – the Premier League is one of the biggest leagues in the world.

“The club is ambitious and I’m ready to give my best to help the club achieve its aims.

“I just hope I get the chance to give [back] to the club what they are giving to me.”
