Udinese expect strikers Antonio Di Natale and Luis Muriel to remain at the club next season to build on their fifth-place finish in Serie A.
The pair shared 37 goals this season as Udinese achieved a top-five finish for the third consecutive season, and as a result qualified for the UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds.
Captain Di Natale has been the talisman for Udinese since his arrival in 2004, scoring 158 goals in almost 300 games.
His performances for Italy have been less impressive but the 35-year-old added 26 goals last season in his 37 appearances, with his younger Colombian partner netting 11 in 22 matches
Di Natale’s form has always attracted attentions of the bigger sides in Italy but he turned them down to remain at Stadio Friuli, and Andrea Carnevale is confident they can hold off the interest of Liverpool in Muriel to keep the front two together for another campaign.
“Di Natale will remain in Udine, I’m 100 per cent sure of that,” the club’s head scout told Sky Sport Italia.
“Muriel will stay too.
“He’s only played six months this term because of injury. He’ll stay here because he has to play at least one full campaign for us.”
