Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg have been fined 50,000 euros for crowd incidents at two Champions League group stage matches.

Zenit were fined for the setting off of fireworks, illicit banners, insufficient organisation and a pitch invasion.

The punishments relate to Zenit’s Group G home games against Shakhtar Donetsk on November 1 and against APOEL on November 23.

In another case, Celtic have been handed a 15,000 euros fine for illicit chanting at their Europa League Group I match against Stade Rennais in Glasgow on November 3.

UEFA Disciplinary Regulations state that disciplinary measures may be taken for the use of gestures, words, objects or any other means to transmit any message that is not fit for a sports event, in particular if it is of a political, offensive or provocative nature.
