Marseille midfielder Mathieu Valbuena admits all is not well at the club as they continue their horror run of form in Ligue 1.

Didier Deschamps’ side are winless in their last 12 matches in the league, sinking to 10th on the table in the process.

Valbuena hoped their Coupe de la Ligue triumph over Lyon would have kick-started their season once again, but it proved to be a false dawn.

“Of course it is hard to live in this kind of situation, it is the first year like this since I have been here in Marseille,” Valbuena said.

“We all go through a very tough period, it has been such a long time since Marseille has lost so many games in a row.

“Obviously we see it in the league table. We just keep losing so we really would like to end this bad run which has followed us for a while.

“After the League Cup final win against Lyon, we were thinking we were re-energised with a breath of fresh air, we could have got a new self-confidence, but I must admit it is still not ok.”

Marseille will be searching for their first league win since January when they travel to Lorient on Friday.
