Villarreal set to sign Karl Toko Ekambi

French daily newspaper L’Equipe has learned that Villarreal are on the verge of signing Angers striker Karl Toko Ekambi.

The Yellow Submarine have so far failed to sign proper replacement for Cedric Bakambu and they believe the Cameroon international will finally fill the gap.

Villarreal have been in talks with Angers for several weeks now and even though their initial €16 million bid was rejected, an agreement now seems on the horizon.

L’Equipe claims that an offer just short of €20 million has now been accepted, meaning that the transfer should become official this weekend.

Despite interest from other top clubs, Ekambi, who scored 17 Ligue 1 goals last season, is keen on moving to Estadio da la Ceramica.
