Walker ready for ´real test´ at Norwich

Tottenham Hotspur full-back Kyle Walker feels his side will face “a real test” when they take on Norwich City in the Premier League.

Spurs go in to the game knowing that a win will take them to within seven points of Manchester United and Manchester City at the top of the table, but will come up against a Norwich side which has only lost twice at home this season.

However, Walker is confident his side can take three points from their trip to Norfolk, although he concedes Paul Lambert’s side will be a tough prospect.

“We’ll prepare as we normally do and hopefully we’ll get the right result,” Walker told Tottenham’s official website.

“Norwich are doing well in the Premier League and if they continue playing how they are playing, they’ll give us a real test.”

Walker has been in terrific form for Spurs so far this season but admitted to feeling nervous ahead of their last game, when they drew 1-1 with Chelsea at White Hart Lane.

However, he does not feel that the pressure of big games is something which will affect his side.

“It’s probably the first game where I’ve felt a little nervous,” he said.

“That’s saying something because I don’t normally get nervous. There was pressure but with the players we’ve got, we don’t take too much notice of that, we play our game and it generally pays off.”

The 21-year-old will come up against his friend Kyle Naughton on Tuesday, who has been in equally fine form since joining the Canaries on loan from Tottenham during the off-season.

Walker said he is in regular contact with his old Sheffield United teammate.

“We speak a lot. He’s said he’s enjoying it at Norwich.”
