Roman Weidenfeller believes Borussia Dortmund do not need to fear any opponents after their 1-1 Champions League draw at Manchester City.
The Bundesliga champions dominated proceedings at the Etihad Stadium and appeared to be on their way to the full three points following Marco Reus’ opener, until Mario Balotelli levelled the score from the penalty spot in the closing minutes of the match.
Nevertheless, Weidenfeller, who captained his side on the night, was pleased with their performance and feels they deserved better.
“We don’t need to fear anybody. We still have a great chance to get through although we’re very disappointed we got just one point,” the goalkeeper said.
“We deserved to get the three points and (conceding) at the end was a blow we didn’t deserve. Joe Hart has saved his team two points and I congratulate him on his performance.”
Dortmund sit second in Group D following Wednesday’s results with four points from two games, two behind Real Madrid.
