Arsene Wenger is determined to continue at Arsenal despite the London club’s shock League Cup defeat at Bradford on Tuesday.

Arsenal were dumped out of the competition by the League Two side in a penalty shootout while their English Premier League form has been disappointing with just six wins from 16 matches.

But Wenger said he has no intention of leaving his post as manager, despite coming under increasing fire.

“My job is to be determined. I love football, I love this club and I give my best for this club,” he said.

“I am very determined and very hungry. If I wasn’t, I would not be here.

“I can understand when people criticise when the results are not expected.”

Reports on Wednesday claimed that some Arsenal players were losing faith in the manager, though Wenger was quick to rebut.

“This team cares, it is serious. I do not question their spirit,” he said.

Arsenal will travel to Reading on Monday as they look to bounce back from their shock Cup loss in the English Premier League.
