West Ham plan January move for Liverpool’s Nathaniel Phillips

West Ham United are interested in signing Liverpool central defender Nathaniel Phillips, according to Football Insider. It has been reported that West Ham manager David Moyes is looking for a centre-back, and Liverpool’s Phillips is on his radar.

The Hammers need a new centre-back due to the injury to Angelo Ogbonna. The defender will not play again this season due to an ACL injury, So, West Ham have identified Liverpool’s Phillips as a potential replacement and are planning to make a bid for him in the January transfer window.

Phillips got his chance at Liverpool last season due to injury problems. The 24-year-old made 15 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League last season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process. The 24-year-old made three appearances in the Champions League for Liverpool last season.
