Wolves set Neves price

Wolverhampton Wanderers value Ruben Neves at around £110million, according to The Times.

Neves had been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool after his notable performances last season in the Championship as Wolves secured promotion, but when the summer transfer window came he dashed all their hopes by signing a new five-year deal with the club. This has, naturally, raised the club’s valuation of the player significantly, and now reports have linked him with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.

City manager Pep Guardiola has been on the lookout for a long-term replacement for the aging Fernandinho. City lost out on the transfers of Fred and Jorginho to United and Chelsea, respectively, and with Fabian Delph acting more as a backup for left back Benjamin Mendy than a central midfielder, it’s certainly a gap that will need filling soon for the reigning Premier League champions.

However, if Neves is to be the solution to their problem, they will apparently need to break the Premier League transfer record currently held by Manchester United with their purchase of Paul Pogba for £89million in 2016.
