Barcelona utility man Adriano has signed a new contract with the club which will expire at the end of the 2016/17 season.
The Brazilian moved to Camp Nou from Sevilla in 2010 for a fee of 9.5 million euros and has filled a variety of roles for the team, most commonly in defensive positions.
His contract was due to expire at the end of next season but the 28-year-old has now sealed an extension.
“Barcelona have agreed terms with Adriano to renew the player’s contract for four additional seasons, through June 30 2017,” a statement read.
“The agreement was reached this afternoon in Barcelona after club officals discussed terms of the contract extansion with the player’s representative.”
The contract includes a buyout clause of 90 million euros.
