Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti feels the Spanish giants have no need to sign Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling.
Sterling – whose contract at Anfield expires in June 2017 – is believed to be in talks over a new deal with Liverpool but has been linked with a move away from Merseyside.
European champions Real are one of the teams who have been reportedly tracking the 19-year-old England international, however, Ancelotti – whose side already includes Ballon d’Or holder Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema – has dismissed that speculation.
“Sterling is a player of great quality, certainly one of the best in Europe,” Ancelotti told The Sun on Sunday. “But we already have extraordinary talent here.
“To think of another striker for the Real Madrid attack is really extremely difficult. It’s clear that Sterling is not in our plans.”
Sterling has scored three goals in seven games for Liverpool this season and will face Real in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
