Arsenal told to improve bid for Xhaka

German media outlet Bild understands that Arsenal have been informed to raise their offer for Granit Xhaka if they want to complete the deal for the Swiss midfielder.

It is no secret that the Gunners have made signing the 23-year-old one of their priorities this summer and they have been in talks with the player’s employers for a couple of weeks now.

But, while Borussia went on to confirm they have received an official proposal for their star player, Bild has learned the offer is way short of their asking price.

While the Gunners started the bidding at €25 million, die Fohlen are holding out for €40 million, meaning the two sides are still some way off reaching an agreement.

The Premier League side are desperate to wrap up the deal ahead of the Euro 2016 finals, as more top clubs could join the race if Xhaka continues the rich vein of form in France.
