Atletico Madrid stumbled out of the Champions League after a 0-0 draw at Porto in the second leg of the last 16 allowed their Iberian rivals to qualify on the away-goals rule.

“We tried our best to keep fighting, but playing alone up front was impossible, since we knew that the Porto defence was going to be very strong and tight. And for me to fight against three others is impossible,” Sergio Aguero said during a brief post-match interview.

“It is not the fault of my team-mates, since it was the coach who chose the formation, not the players. If it were up to me, I would always play Forlan because we work well together.”
