Fox Sports is reporting that Atletico Madrid are showing interest in Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.

The Mexican has returned to Old Trafford following a successful loan spell with Real Madrid, after los Blancos opted against making the transfer permanent.

But, it appears that Hernandez will be given an opportunity to return to Madrid after all, with Atletico Madrid now keen on his services.

Namely, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal plans to offload the talented footballer this summer and los Colchoneros seem ready to pounce.

Atletico have singled out Porto’s Jackson Martinez as a perfect replacement for Mario Mandzukic, but they could turn their attention to Hernandez if the Colombian moves elsewhere.

The 27-year-old did pretty well during the loan spell with Real Madrid, scoring 7 La Liga goals in as many starts, while also bagging the winner in the Champions League quarter-final against Atletico.

Everton readying bid for Meireles

Premier League outfit Everton are hot on the trail of Fenerbahce midfielder Raul Meireles, Fanatik can reveal.

The Toffees believe that the 32-year-old would be an asset to the squad at Goodison Park and they are reportedly prepared to offer around €4 million for the former Chelsea star.

And with Fenerbahce officials looking to rejuvenate the squad, they seem ready to accept the proposal from England, especially seeing that Meireles has another year left on his contract.

The Portugal international has spent last three years at Sukru Saracoglu, making 65 league appearances and scoring 5 goals.

Meireles had previously represented both Liverpool and Chelsea in English Premier League, bagging a total of 7 goals in 63 outings.

The midfielder has lost his place in the national team under Fernando Santos, having failed to make a single appearance in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Monaco in double swoop for Sporting stars

Monaco are stepping up their efforts to sign Sporting Lisbon starlets William Carvalho and Adrien Silva, according to Record.

The Principality club have money to spend having just sold Geoffrey Kondogbia to Inter Milan for €40 million, and they look ready to make an assault on the Lions duo.

Record has learned that Monaco will offer a combined fee of €32 million for the two highly rated footballers.

William Carvalho, who is currently representing Portugal at the Under21 European Championship, already has a long list of suitors among Europe’s top clubs.

Meanwhile, Adrien Silva has enjoyed two very successful seasons at Estadio Jose Alvalade and he could be leaving for a bigger club this summer.

The 26-year-old has bagged no fewer than 16 goals in 58 appearances in the last two Primeira Liga campaigns.
