Former Roma goalkeeper Michael Konsel says Julio Baptista has proved his critics wrong with the way he has played so far this season.

“He has proved his critics wrong with a solid performance on the pitch,” he told Laromasiamonoi.it.

“I am happy because he is a wonderful player and can be Roma’s main weapon this year.”

Konsel also reckons Mirko Vucinic will be an important player for Roma this season.

He said: “But I would not forget about Mirko Vucinic either. He is also an important element who can always make the difference.

“I believe Roma are back on track. They played wonderfully in France, particularly in the second half, after Baptista came on. They have reacted well to the negative period and I hope they conquer Siena today. Better yet, I predict a 2-1 win for the Lupi.”
