Barcelona keen on Andre-Pierre Gignac

Spanish giants Barcelona are showing interest in Tigres striker Andre-Pierre Gignac, Mundo Deportivo can reveal.

The Catalans have yet to recruit a high-quality striker and they recently missed out on primary target Kevin Gameiro, who joined Atletico Madrid instead.

Barcelona officials are determined to sign a proven goalscorer in the next ten days and Andre-Pierre Gignac has emerged as a surprise target.

The 30-year-old reportedly wants to return to Europe following an impressive debut season in Mexico that saw him score 28 goals in 39 league outings.

Gignac also showed a great deal of promise playing for France at the Euro 2016 finals, but was very unfortunate not to score in six appearances for Les Bleus.

The experienced forward, who had enjoyed spells with Lorient, Toulouse and Marseille, could now get the opportunity to join the La Liga champions, but it remains to be seen whether Barcelona can reach an agreement with his current employers.
