Barcelona line up Valdes replacement

Barcelona are already preparing for life without Victor Valdes, El Mundo Deportivo has suggested.

The Spain international has a contract until June 2014 at Camp Nou, but he has yet to be offered a new deal, which could mean the Catalans are hoping to cash in on him at the end of the current campaign.

This is why the club officials are already searching for potential replacements, with Manchester United’s David De Gea clearly the number one target.

There have been reports in England that Sir Alex Ferguson is not entirely satisfied with the Spaniard’s performances and that he is thinking about signing a new number one.

Barcelona attempted to sign De Gea in 2007 and then again few years later, but they are hoping third time will be the charm.

The Catalans are also looking at Borussia M’gladbach keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Bayer Leverkusen’s Bernd Leno.
