Barcelona set sights on David Alaba

La Liga champions-elect Barcelona have reportedly made Bayern Munich full-back David Alaba one of their main transfer targets this summer.

Spanish news outlet Don Balon is suggesting that the Catalans are preparing a €50 million offer that will also include out-of-sorts midfielder Andre Gomes.

Barcelona are tempted by Alaba’s versatility they feel will fit perfectly into their style of play. The Bayern Munich star has emerged as one of the best full-backs in European football over the past couple of years.

Still a very young footballer of only 25 years of age, Alaba boasts impressive experience with almost 300 senior appearances for the Germany’s finest. Alaba is also one of the highly-regarded Austrian internationals with 60 caps to his name already.

Barcelona are hoping that a lucrative deal plus a possibility to land Andre Gomes would be enough to tempt the Bavarians this summer.

Alaba is contracted to Bayern Munich until 2021 and Barcelona will have a difficult task in convincing the Bundesliga giants to give up on one of their most illustrious commodities.
