Barcelona to go after Zoet?

According to AS, Barcelona are looking at Jeroen Zoet as a possible replacement for Jasper Cillessen. The 29 year old Cillessen has been at the Nou Camp since 2016, but has failed to make any major appearances in comparison to his time in the spotlight with Ajax. It’s expected that he’ll soon leave the club in search of first team football, with sitting on the bench not really being a favourable option for him.

Zoet, on the other hand, has been with PSV since back in 2011 and has made over 150 appearances for the Dutch club. At the age of 27 he’s just starting to come into his prime as a goalkeeper, although this situation does raise an interesting question regarding what some keepers are willing to do for money.

After all, Zoet will almost certainly be taking Cillessen’s place on the bench, and there are plenty of keepers who wouldn’t want to find themselves in that position.
