Bayern could have signed Ousmane Dembele

German media outlet Bild claims that Bayern Munich missed the opportunity to sign French winger Ousmane Dembele who eventually ended up joining arch rivals Borussia Dortmund.

Both sides decided to step up their interest in the talented footballer near the end of 2015, but the Bavarians made a huge mistake that ended up costing them dearly.

Namely, while Dortmund were in talks with Dembele’s actual representative Marco Kirdemir, Bayern technical director Michael Reschke was speaking to his former agent Badou Sambague instead.

As soon as they heard that the Bavarians were keen, the Millionaires wrapped up the deal and ended up getting their hands on the marvellous footballer.

Dembele, 19, has enjoyed a bright start to his career at Signal-Iduna Park and it appears he has already nailed down a regular starting berth.

The youngster managed 1 goal and 2 assists in his first 6 Bundesliga appearances, while also starting the two Champions League fixtures.
