Bayern secure new signing; Mirallas hints at La Liga switch

Bayern Munich have agreed to sign Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Sebastian Rode, according to the player’s current employers.

The news comes just few days after it was revealed Borussia Dortmund superstar Mario Gotze would be joining the Bavarians in the summer.

Mainz defender Jan Kirchhoff will arrive at Alianz Arena on a free transfer in the summer, with Sebastian Rode set to follow.

“Why does Jan Kirchhoff go to Bayern? Why does Sebastian (Rode) go too?” Eintracht chief Heribert Bruchhagen said in an interview with Bild.

“My God, these are young people. They can earn four times as much money at Bayern as they can here. End of story. The budget at Eintracht is 30 million euros, it’s 150 million at Bayern.”

It remains to be seen whether Rode will be joining Bayern next summer or when his contract expires in a year’s time.

Both Kirchhoff and Rode have enjoyed impressive campaigns this season, but they could still find it hard to get regular playing time in Munich.

Mirallas hints at La Liga switch

Everton forward Kevin Mirallas has dropped a real bombshell by admitting that he would like to play in Spanish La Liga.

The Belgium international has been in scintillating form since arriving at the club from Olympiakos, and he would have shown more had it not been for the numerous injuries.

However, it appears that he won’t be staying at Goodison Park for much longer, having expressed his desire to move to Spanish La Liga.

“My roots make me want to go and play in Spain. And I will play for Standard Liege one day, no matter what,” Mirallas was quoted as saying in Daily Express.

With long-serving boss David Moyes heavily linked with a summer exit, Everton officials are fearing a real player exodus in the summer.

As things stand now, Mirallas could be the first one to leave, and he should have no shortage of offers following what was a very promising season for him.

Menez set for Monaco return

Paris Saint-Germain forward Jeremy Menez looks set to join Monaco in the summer, according to L’Equipe.

The Ligue 2 side are readying a summer shopping spree and the France international appears to be one of their top targets.

Monaco boss Claudio Ranieri has a big admirer of the player with whom he worked at Roma and is keen to add him to his ranks.

Menez, 25, has a contract until June 2014 at Parc des Princes, and he is not too keen on staying at PSG given that he has struggled for playing time of late.

It was at Monaco that Menez made a name for himself, spending two seasons at the club before joining Roma in the summer of 2008.

He never quite managed to prove his worth in Italian Serie A, but has managed to kick-start his career since returning to France.

It is believed the winger would be interested in becoming a part of Monaco’s ambitious project.
