Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has joined Franz Beckenbauer in setting Louis van Gaal a Christmas deadline to turn the club’s fortunes around.
German media reported on Monday that Hoeness discussed Van Gaal’s position with Bayern chairman Beckenbauer and the two club icons decided to set a deadline for Van Gaal. The experienced trainer gets until christmas to revive his struggling side.
Bayern’s board is still confident the tide will turn for Der Rekordmeister. “The draw against Schalke showed a clear improvement compared with the match against Bordeaux, for the Champions League,” said Hoeness. The manager refused to discuss Van Gaal’s case.
“We won’t discuss the coach’s situation in public.”
