Beckham wants Kaka at Galaxy

SoccerNews in La Liga 2 Dec 2012

David Beckham has urged the Los Angeles Galaxy to sign Real Madrid attacker Kaka.

Reports have suggested the MLS champions intend to find a high-profile replacement to fill the designated slayer position now vacant in their squad after the former England international’s departure.

Speaking after his team secured a second MLS Cup victory in as many years with a 3-1 win over Houston Dynamo, Beckham was full of praise for Kaka.

“I think most clubs would like Kaka to come into their team,” the 37-year-old midfielder said.

“I know Ricardo from playing over the years against him for England. Obviously, I spent a lot of time with him when I was at AC Milan.

“He’s a great talent. He’s a great person and he’s a hard worker. He’s one of the most professional players that I’ve ever come up against and played with.

“So of course if there was any slight chance of bringing him to the Galaxy then I’m sure the owners would do anything possible.”

Kaka has previously spoken of his desire to play in MLS at some point in his career with his brother Digao, who is plying his trade with New York Red Bulls.

However, while Beckham certainly does not consider the transfer a given, he would be delighted if the Brazilian chose to move to California.

“He’s still a Real Madrid player,” the former Manchester United star said.

“It’s obviously disrespectful to speak about him coming here when he’s still in contract. But of course, if there was any chance of getting Ricardo here, you’d do anything.”
