Portuguese giants Benfica are stepping up their efforts to sign Millonarios defender Deiver Machado, according to A Bola.
The Eagles appear to be in the market for defensive reinforcements and the 23-year-old footballer is the latest name on their hit-list.
Benfica have established a cooperation with Millonarios and they hope to bring Machado to Estadio da Luz in the January window, whereas Guillermo Celis could move in the opposite direction.
Deiver Machado usually operates on the left side of defence, but he can also play at right back and right midfielder.
The talented footballer joined Millonarios from Alianza Petrolera a year ago and he has since managed one goal and three assists in 29 competitive appearances for his new club.
Machado seems to have already done enough to secure a big club move and it only remains to be seen whether a January switch to Benfica will materialise.
