Both Bayern Munich and Manchester United keen on Lewandowski

A report from talkSPORT is today suggesting that Manchester United will battle it out with Bayern Munich to sign Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

The Red Devils have been keen on a move for the Poland international for a while now and they were apparently in talks with him in the last summer transfer window.

However, they eventually signed Robin van Persie of course, but that does now mean that Lewandowski is off Sir Alex Ferguson’s radar.

The striker has been superb for the Bundesliga Champions in the last couple of years and led them to the league and cup double last campaign.

He is out of contract in 2014 and a new deal does not look like being agreed just yet.

Pep Guardiola takes charge of Bayern Munich at the end of the Bundesliga term of course and he could make a shock move for the Dortmund man.

Guardiola knows it might be tough to lure him from Dortmund to Munich, especially as the player has been so loyal to his current employers in his career so far, but still remains confident he can sign him.

It is certainly a fascinating story to keep an eye on.
