Brighton 9/4 to beat Southampton in Sunday’s Premier League game

Competition: Premier League

Market: Brighton to beat Southampton

Odds: 9/4 @ Bet365

Following yet another incredibly interesting and important Saturday in the Premier League, there are a number of matches on Sunday that will see the table change once again. In the early kick-off of the day, Brighton host Southampton in a very midtable clash.

For Brighton, the season has gone about as well as the fans would have hoped. In their nine games, they have won three times, drawn twice and lost four games. In their last five they have been solid winning twice, drawing once and losing twice, seeing them to 12th place with 11 points. While being three points above the relegation zone does not mean that they are safe by any means, it is a good return considering they were earmarked as one of the sides most likely to go down this campaign.

For Southampton, it has been another underwhelming campaign. 12 points from nine games has seen the Saints to 11th in the league, just four points clear of the relegation zone. What is most worrying for the fans is that the team does not look like they are making progress each year. A high managerial turnover is dwarfed by the outgoings of their best players and, every year seems to just be a case of consolidating their mid-table place in the league and not much else. For a side that has a number of very talented players and can play some very attractive football, it has been a disappointing few years in the league. With this in mind, Bet365 have given Brighton odds of 9/4 to beat Southampton on Sunday.
