Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets insists his side cannot afford to lose focus if they are to claim the La Liga title this term.

The Catalans went six points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid following the 5-1 win over Athletic Bilbao, while they hold an 11-point lead over arch-rivals Real Madrid, but Busquets feels the title race is not decided just yet.

“There’s a long way to go in the league and we can’t relax,” he told the club’s official website.

“I’m really happy to have made the best ever start to a league campaign. Let’s keep on winning. The important thing is that we have won nearly all our games in all competitions.”

Busquets went on to praise team-mate Lionel Messi, voicing his opinion that the Argentine is the best player in the world.

“He’s the best in the world. He scores goals and takes part in all the attacking moves,” he said.

Messi netted twice on Saturday to take his tally this season to 21 goals in 14 La Liga appearances.
