Chelsea target Vardy

The Metro understands that Jamie Vardy is on the list of potential targets for Premier League champions Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho’s side are on the lookout for a new forward as their current selection of strikers have all failed to impress so far this season, with first choice front man Diego Costa linked with a move away from the club.

Radamel Falcao has barely featured since signing on loan from Ligue 1 side Monaco, as has Loic Remy while Pedro has netted just once having joined from Barcelona in August.

Vardy has hit fourteen league goals so far this season, just three fewer than the Blues have managed in total.

His opener in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United broke a Premier League record for scoring in the most consecutive games, and his form has even seen him mentioned in the same breath as La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.
