Guadalajara have defeated Xelaju 2-1 but the losers still advanced to the CONCACAF Champions League quarter-finals.

On the final day of the CONCACAF Champions League group stage, Guadalajara entered the clash three points behind the visiting Xelaju.

At 2-0 up after 65 minutes, the hosts looked set to book their place in the last eight, but a goal from Allan Aleman saw Xelaju advance on the away goals rule.

Guadalajara went 1-0 up in front of their home fans just before half-time when Carlos Fierro got free down the left wing and sent his cross to the back post where Jesus Sanchez had time to take a touch with his right foot before smashing the ball into the net with his left from close range.

Luis Morales made it 2-0 for Guadalajara in the 65th minute with the 20-year-old midfielder bursting into the box, exchanging passes with Marco Fabian, and then showing impressive control to get away from two defenders and finish into the bottom corner.

But in the 79th minute, Aleman picked up a loose ball and finished inside the penalty area to send the Guatemalans through.

Omar Esparza was sent off for the hosts late on when he picked up a second yellow card.

In the other group-stage match, Los Angeles Galaxy finished Group 5 undefeated thanks to a 3-2 victory away to Isidro Metapan of El Salvador.

Teenager Jack McBean scored twice for the Galaxy in just his third match for the MLS club, while Michael Stephens struck the winner for LA.

McBean, a 17-year-old forward, opened the scoring for LA in the 38th minute but Metapan equalised 10 minutes into the second half thanks to a goal from Uruguayan attacking midfielder Paolo Suarez.

In a frantic opening to the second half, the Galaxy were in front again through McBean in the 62nd minute before Panamanian striker Nicolas Munoz dragged the home side level just five minutes later.

But Stephens clinched victory for LA in the 79th minute, taking the Galaxy to 10 points from four games, six ahead of second-placed Puerto Rico Islanders, while Metapan were bottom (three points).
