Rumours are suggesting Liverpool are looking to complete a deal to sign Corinthians forward Alexandre Pato this month, with the talented goalscorer reportedly desperate to play in the Premier League.

Pato, a Brazilian international, is still only 26 and has plenty of time to resurrect his career in Europe again. He’s spent the last few years in his native Brazil, enjoying a prolific number of seasons for goalscoring, but could be tempted to come to England after being inundated with offers.

Arsenal and Tottenham are reportedly both keen on his signature, but Liverpool are said to have offered around £11M for his services and are close to confirming a deal. Pato was once regarded as Europe’s finest young strikers during his time at AC Milan, but injuries led to poor form and he eventually left the Italian outfit.

However, now he’s back among the goals and looking fit, Pato has plenty of time ahead of him to make a name for himself in the Premier League, and will have noted how many Brazilians have succeeded in the English top-flight. As a result, Betfair are giving odds of 4/7 for Pato to join Liverpool in January.
