Costa hints at Atletico Madrid return

Diego Costa has hinted that he could be tempted by a return to Atletico Madrid, according to the Mirror.

The Spain international has mostly been making headlines for the wrong reasons this season, and has so far failed to reproduce his form from last year – his first in the Premier League.

His four goals in nineteen appearances in all competitions has left Jose Mourinho looking for alternatives with Shakthar Donetsk’s Alex Teixeira, Saido Berahino of West Bromwich Albion and the Premier League player of the season so far – Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy all being linked with moves to Stamford Bridge.

Costa’s former teammate Felipe Luis moved from Atleti to Chelsea and then back again and the twenty-seven year old may well follow suit.

The Blues lost their eighth league game of the season at the weekend, when they were beaten by struggling Bournemouth, and are now priced at 7/1 to make the top four.
