Montpellier and Lille both progressed to the semi-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue with wins on Wednesday.

Jonathan Tinhan scored a late winner for Montpellier against Nice, while Lille did it rather more easily with a 3-0 victory at Bastia.

Strikes from Remy Cabella and Emanuel Herrera either side of half-time put the reigning Ligue 1 champions 2-1 up after Alexy Bosetti’s opener for Nice at the Stade de la Mosson.

Eric Bautheac scored from the penalty spot in the 66th minute to equalise for Nice but Tinhan settled the 3-2 victory seven minutes from time.

In Corsica, Bastia went behind early through Gianni Bruno’s 11th-minute strike.

Lille then sealed the win in the second half with goals from Ronny Rodelin (62) and Djibril Sidibe (84).
