Just when one thought that the Cristiano Ronaldo saga was over, for a while yet, it was revealed here on Wednesday that Manchester United have agreed to sell the Portuguese winger to Real Madrid.
This was revealed in the highly respected Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
According to the tabloid United have agreed to sell their prized asset at the end of the season.
The newspaper quoted a conversation between a Real Madrid director Pedro Trapote and one of Roman Calderon’s business associates in which it was recorded that the deal was finalised on Monday but that a clause in the agreement prohibits Real Madrid from making it public.
There is bound to be further heated debate and tomorrow’s Champions League draw should be particularly interesting, especially if Real Madrid and Manchester United are drawn against each other.
