Danish footballer struck by lightning

FC Nordsjælland player Jonathan Richter is in a coma after being struck by lightning on Monday.

The 24 year old midfielder was struck during a reserves game and suffered cardiac arrest as result.

As part of Danish standard procedure, Richter was put into a coma and cooled to a temperature of 34 degrees celsius (93 F).

Richter plays for FC Nordsjælland since 2005 and formed part of the team that beat defending champions Copenhagen on Saturday. This victory lifted the team to first place after the opening round of matches.
