English Premier League side Blackburn Rover’s manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that he will not be pursuing his interest in Bolton striker Kevin Davies.

Allardyce is looking to bolster his attacking options after the departures of Roque Santa Cruz and Matt Derbyshire.

Allardyce knows all about Davies having worked with him at Bolton and it is understood they were prepared to pay £5million to secure his services.

However, Rovers were rebuffed when chairman John Williams made an enquiry about the 32-year-old.

Allardyce said: “John told me Davies is not available and as far as I`m concerned that`s it.”
