Debuchy to seal Aston Villa loan move

French media outlet L’Equipe is reporting that Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy is set to join Aston Villa.

The France international has spoken about his desire to leave the Gunners in search of first team football, and he reportedly prefers a loan move to outright transfer.

According to L’Equipe, Debuchy recently met with Aston Villa manager Remi Garde and he is ready to join the Villans on loan until the end of the season.

And with Arsene Wenger giving the all clear for the deal to go ahead, only minor details are left to be sorted out.

It is no secret that Debuchy wants to play regular first team football in an attempt to secure his place in the France squad for the Euro 2016 finals.

But, with Aston Villa ten points adrift of safety and 14/1 shot to survive the current Premier League campaign, the experienced defender could find it hard to help the Villans avoid the drop.
