Martin Demichelis’ representative has quashed reports linking him with an imminent move to Napoli, according to TalkSport.
The 33 year old, who moved to the Etihad Stadium on transfer deadline day during the summer window, has faced criticism in some quarters during his time with Manuel Pellegrini’s men.
The City boss is set to make a move for at least one big money centre-back at the end of the season, suggesting the Argentina international’s time in Manchester could be coming to an end.
However, the defender’s agent Jorge Cyterspiler has insisted that Rafael Benitez’s side have not yet been in touch, though he removed to rule out a move in the future.
Manchester City currently sit in third place in the Premier League, four points behind leaders Liverpool with two games in hand.
They host Southampton on Saturday afternoon, and can be backed at 1/3 to take all three points.
