Diarra set for Sociedad test

Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra has shrugged off a muscular problem and could feature in Saturday’s clash at Real Sociedad.

The Frenchman sustained a right arm injury in Real’s 4-1 La Liga win over Real Betis earlier this month, which caused him to miss the win over Lyon in the Champions League and domestic victories over Malaga and Villarreal.

However, Los Blancos have announced on their official website that Diarra has resumed regular training and is in contention to feature against Sociedad, as Jose Mourinho’s men look to put more pressure on league leaders Levante.

Real are one point behind Levante in the standings, but also importantly head title holders Barcelona by one point in a congested leaderboard after nine games.

Diarra has made four league starts for the Spanish powerhouse this campaign.
