Dubai International Capital, the investment company trying to buy Liverpool, have assured the Premier League club’s fans that they have no intention of offering Jose Mourinho the manager’s job if they do take over at Anfield.
The Portuguese former Chelsea boss was reported to have recently met DIC representatives, who were keen to find out if he would be willing to succeed Rafa Benitez.
Mourinho is public enemy number one at Anfield after his withering criticism of Benitez and the club during his time with Chelsea, and his appointment in place of the Spaniard would enrage the Liverpool faithful.
But sources at DIC, who have good relations with a number of Liverpool fans’ groups including the recently formed Spirit of Shankly organisation, have denied that they have ever “offered the job to Mourinho, or met him to discuss it.”
