(GSM) – Rubin Kazan striker Alejandro Dominguez has claimed that his move to Spanish giants Valencia is ‘almost complete’.
The Argentine has reportedly turned down Roma and Juventus because of his determination to move to Spain and his desire to play alongside David Villa and David Silva.
It has long been expected that Dominguez would leave Rubin in the January transfer window after the 28-year-old rejected a one-season extension to his contract, which expires later in December.
Valencia appear to have taken full advantage of the situation and are said to have offered the player a three-and-a-half-year deal.
He told superdeporte.es: “My move to Valencia is almost complete. I have pushed to complete it now because I want to play football in Spain and dream of having Villa and Silva as team-mates.
“It is true that Rubin offered to extend my contract for another season and that is a gesture that I valued greatly, they have always been great to me.”
One of Dominguez’s agents, Gustavo Ghezzi, told calciomercato.it: “Dominguez is very close to Valencia, who offered him a three-and-a-half-year contract.
“I fear it is too late for Roma and the other Italian club. I think there is no chance of his arrival in Italy. All that is left is to sign with Valencia.”
