Dortmund readying bid for Miguel Layun

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are preparing a January assault on FC Porto full-back Miguel Layun, according to Bild.

The Dragons only purchased the Mexican’s contract from Watford in the summer as he impressed during a season long loan spell.

Layun has been in excellent form ever since he first arrived at Estadio do Dragao, having managed 7 goals and amazing 23 assists in 52 appearances for the club.

Despite playing on the left hand side last term, the 28-year-old has been used on the right this season, and his very good showings clearly did not go unnoticed.

Bild claims that Borussia Dortmund plan to offer €12 million for the experienced footballer in the January transfer window as they lack cover for Lukasz Piszczek on the right side of defence.

Layun has so far earned 45 Mexico caps despite only making his debut just over three years ago.
