Portugal legend Eusebio has been discharged from hospital after feeling unwell at the weekend.
The 70-year-old travelled to Poland to watch Portugal’s 1-0 Euro 2012 quarter-final victory over the Czech Republic, but was admitted to Poznan’s Josef Strus Hospital after a health scare.
He will be moved to Lisbon on Wednesday for further tests.
“Eusebio enjoyed a good night. The medical team found him physically and mentally able today and discharged him,” hospital spokesperson Stanislav Rusek told Abola.
Doctor Jose Roquete told reporters: “Eusebio was fine, just a bit tired, and right now his condition is stable.
“However, we will not let him watch Portugal’s match.”
The Benfica icon – he played for the club a remarkable 614 times and scored 638 goals – has been in and out of hospital three times since December 2011, with a history of hypertension.
