The Romanian has been ordered to pay £14.5m compensation to Chelsea for breach of contract after he tested positive for cocaine. “The club is very close to him, but I don’t know the full legal ramifications yet and so cannot give my opinion on the verdict,†explained general manager Sandro Mencucci. “I will only say that Fiorentina will not abandon him and will always stand by Mutu, providing any type of support he requires.â€Â
