Flamini linked with Serie A return

Il Corriere dello Sport claims that Former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini is being linked with a move back to Italian Serie A.

The Frenchman is a free agent after his contract at the Emirates came to an end, and he is believed to be on the radar of Turkish side Caykur Rizespor.

However, reports from Italy suggest that AS Roma are also keen on his services as William Vainqueur is set for a summer exit.

If the Frenchman leaves, the Giallorossi will recruit another central midfielder and his compatriot is one of the players they are looking at.

Flamini fared pretty well during a five-year spell at AC Milan, making 96 Serie A appearances and scoring 7 goals, and AS Roma officials believe he would be a good back-up option at Stadio Olimpico.

The 32-year-old made a total of 16 Premier League outings last term, starting 12 of those matches.
