Fog forces St Johnstone postponement

St Johnstone’s Scottish Premier League clash with Aberdeen has been postponed because of fog.

A pitch inspection from referee Steven McLean at McDiarmid Park in Perth took place just under three hours before kick-off on Monday.

The postponement means Steve Lomas will have to wait until a trip to Ibrox to meet Rangers on November 19 to see over his first game in charge of St Johnstone, after he took over from Derek McInnes on Friday.

A statement on Aberdeen’s club website read: “Fog has hung over Perth for most of the day and referee Steven McLean was requested by St Johnstone to make an early inspection of the stadium.”

“He decided the match cannot go ahead.”

St Johnstone sit fourth in the Scottish Premier League, while Aberdeen are struggling in 11th.
