Henrikh Mkhitaryan nears Dortmund exit

Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be set to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer after rejecting a new contract offer, according to Bild.

The highly rated footballer has just over a year left on his current deal and the latest reports suggest he will not be extending his stay at Signal-Iduna Park.

Mikhitaryan is on the radar of quite a few top clubs and it appears he has decided to leave the Millionaires for greener pastures.

His official representative Mino Raiola has moved to confirm that his client will not be signing a new deal with Borussia, thus adding fuel to speculation linking the Armenia hotshot with a summer exit.

“Why should we prolong it now? ‘Micki’ is under contract until 2017, and we continue to think about his future,” Raiola told Bild.

This basically means that Borussia Dortmund will be forced to sell this summer if they want to avoid losing their star player on a free transfer.

Mkhitaryan, 27, has been one of club’s best performers this season as he managed 11 goals and 15 assists in 31 Bundesliga fixtures.
