Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez hopes the club can emulate their historic treble won in 1999.

The Mexico international netted two goals to seal Saturday’s 4-1 fourth-round victory over Fulham, in a competition Sir Alex Ferguson’s team have not won since the 2003-04 season.

United face a Champions League last-16 tie against Real Madrid and sit in first place in the Premier League, and Hernandez insisted the club are eyeing all three trophies.

“We want to win all three,” he told the Manchester Evening News.

“We want to win the treble.

“It is in our minds. We need to think game by game, get the points in the league and get through in both cup competitions.”

Despite bagging another double, Hernandez is still searching for his first hat-trick as a United player but claims team accolades are of more importance to him.

“I am always looking for the famous hat-trick,” he admitted.

“But the most important thing for me right now is to win the treble.

“Next we have two games in the league. After that there is the international break, we play another league game and then Real Madrid, so the calendar is busy and we are looking forward to it.”
