Although Chelsea are very well served by midfield players they will be rocked by the news that Michael Essien will be out for at least five months with a serious knee injury.
Essien ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament during Ghana’s World Cup qualifier in Libya last Friday.
Chelsea have several world class midfield players within their ranks but none of them would bring to the team exactly what Essien does. He has established himself as one of the best players of his type in the world and will be sorely missed.

Hating Chelsea is one thing; wishing ill on Essien or any players is wrong.
