Inter Milan have signed talented midfielder Joao Goncalo Soares Vega Fonseca from Benfica, the youngster confirmed on his Instagram account.
The 16-year-old decided to continue his career in Italy after impressing playing for the youth sides at Estadio da Luz.
And even though Fonseca joins Inter Milan on a free transfer, Benfica is due to receive training compensation.
The 16-year-old tends to operate as a central midfielder, but he is also capable of playing in the heart of defence.
Fonseca spent last season playing for the Benfica Under-17 side, and he was widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects at the club.
The youngster, nonetheless, decided to leave the Eagles for greener pastures and has now signed a pre-contract with the Nerazzurri.
Fonseca will be eligible to sign a professional deal with the Italian giants when he turns 17 in April next year.
